Wearable inelligence tech that computes the data around us
Pattie Maes: Unveiling game-changing wearable tech at TED Talks.
This technology is straight out of MIT and still very much a work in progress, but it displays or better projects alternative products while you are in the supermarket. It has a smart camera that detects what you are looking at and searches the web for alternatives. It takes the Android or iPhone bar code scanner apps to a whole new level and even Google Goggles might like to get their hands on that piece of tech.
Basically how it works is that The camera detects bar codes or otherwise does an advanced image search that then brings up not only potentially competitive products, but based on your specifications, can return the most nutritious or ecologically friendly product of the range. It doesn’t stop there, when you are at home it can display your electricity use on every appliance that you use to remind you to switch off.
Highly interesting tech presentation on TED Talks. Let me know your comments.
